Patients
who are considering cochlear implantation will meet with selected members
of our implant team, including:• Surgeons
• Audiologists
• Speech-Language Pathologists
• Social Workers
• School and Work Consultants
Team members conduct a complete evaluation to assess each patient's needs and determine the appropriate way to address those needs. All types of implants are considered. After the evaluation is complete, the team meets to make recommendations. Our specialists continue to evaluate patients to ensure that their treatment is progressing satisfactorily. The Cochlear Implant Coordinator assists patients and their families with setting up appointments, dealing with insurance companies, and answering general questions related to our services.
